The Chris Wild (ON 1991) Indigenous Scholarship

The Chris Wild (ON 1991) Indigenous Scholarship is awarded every year to young students from an Indigenous background entering Year 7.

Students should demonstrate a strong performance in the Newington scholarship examination, excellence through supporting documentation (school reports, external competition reports, NAPLAN results), and the ability to contribute positively to the life of the College.

The Chris Wild (ON 1991) Indigenous Scholarship is subject to a means test, and covers all normal tuition at Newington College until the completion of Year 12, as well as additional charges associated with compulsory excursions and tours, textbooks, uniforms, and HSC or IB charges.

Chris Wild was a teacher by profession and enjoyed working with Indigenous children in his spare time. To honour his life and his passion for Indigenous education, the Wild family, their friends and a number of generous Old Newingtonians established the Chris Wild (ON 1991) Indigenous Scholarship in his memory.

How to apply

All students applying for a Newington College Scholarship must sit the scholarship test. The test is administered by Academic Assessment Services.
