2026 Live Performances

Back to Newington Day will feature a wide range of live performances and demonstrations across multiple venues.

For many years, the Newington Music Department has enjoyed showcasing the Jazz Program at Back to Newington Day and 2026 is no exception.

Students from our Prep Schools through to Year 12 will be performing throughout the day. All are welcome to drop by the Centenary Hall steps to relax to some tunes or groove with the contemporary bands.

New hip-hop performances from our Prep school students will take place throughout the day.

An all-time favourite returns this year with the Pacific Showcase being performed on the Centenary Hall steps.

You can catch all the Theatresports action in the OBLT.

2026 Exhibitions

Concordia Gallery is proud to present Leaving a Mark – an exhibition of IB and HSC Visual Arts artworks.

In 2026, three classes of students reflected on the people, events, and ideas that have impacted them and sought material process that represented the care and insights they have gained from these artistic explorations. Some students made intuitive inquiries into family histories, others explored places of importance, but what all students achieved was meaningful works in the forms of drawings, paintings,
printmaking, installation, video, sculpture and photography.

We are impressed by the contemporary forms that these artworks have taken, and the resolution that has been achieved. They are instilled with rigour and relevance, and
provide thoughtful commentary on personal and public narratives.
We hope you can take time to attend the opening on Back To
Newington Day, and reflect on the messages in the artworks.
