Live Performances

Back to Newington Day will feature a wide range of live performances and demonstrations across multiple venues.

For many years, the Newington Music Department has enjoyed showcasing the Jazz Program at Back to Newington Day and 2025 is no exception.

Students from our Prep Schools through to Year 12 will be performing throughout the day. All are welcome to drop by the Centenary Hall steps to relax to some tunes or groove with the contemporary bands.

New hip-hop performances from our Prep school students will take place throughout the day.

An all time favourite returns this year with the Tongan Showcase being performed on the Centenary Hall steps.

Exhibitions

Concordia Gallery is proud to present Here I Am – an exhibition of IB and HSC Visual Arts artworks.

In 2025, three classes of students approached artmaking from wide-ranging and original vantage points, bringing forward sophisticated perspectives in their approach to the practice of art. The works presented here take many forms – painting, drawing, video animation, printmaking, performance, and sculpture.

We are impressed by the contemporary forms that these artworks have taken, and the technical resolution that has been achieved. The works are instilled with rigour and relevance, the artists having considered ideas including: portraiture as a means of conversation; how qualities of the self can be represented; identity politics; and how we as humans choose to participate in both formal and implied societal rules.
