From the Head of the ELC
Dear Families,
It has been a truly rewarding year! Educating and caring for the youngest pupils of Newington has been a pleasure. They have actively immersed themselves in the joy of learning and grown in their sense of agency, within the firm foundations of our ELC community.
I would like to acknowledge and thank Team ELC for their dedication in educating and caring for the children throughout the year. They have wholeheartedly facilitated and equipped the children for the next stage of learning that awaits them in the new year.
I would also like to thank you, the most significant people in the lives of our ELC children, for entrusting your child to us with confidence. The genuine partnerships we have had with you have been integral in building your child’s sense of belonging and enriching their educational experience. We feel privileged to have had parents who have invested their time and efforts to share or teach the ELC children about their cultural heritage, their vocation, or their special talents throughout the year. Our diversity-rich community has been an authentic strength we have been so proud of.
The ELC Learning Celebration was the culmination of the dynamic learning journey we have walked together with the children. It was wonderful to see our families gather and enjoy this vibrant event to celebrate the children – how they have thrived and become the phenomenal cohort they are today!
Thank you for the genuine words of kindness and expressions of gratitude you have bestowed on Team ELC over the past few weeks as we prepare to say farewell to the Goanna and Eagle class children and look forward to welcoming back the Possum class children in the new year.

- Last day for ELC children: Thursday 12 December 2024
- Commencement date for ELC children: Tuesday 7 January 2025
