What Happened This Week

New Zealand tour recap

Over the school holidays 45 students and 5 staff from our Prep campuses travelled to New Zealand for a football and rugby tour. The tour started in Christchurch and travelled south to Queenstown. They played two fixtures against New Zealand school sides and experienced a training session with professional teams. The students developed independence, as for many it was their first international trip without parents. We would like to give a massive thank you to Wyvern staff Joel Wilson, Jamie Martin and Anna McLachlan for giving up a week of their school holiday and for taking the students on a once in a lifetime trip. Please click here to access a highlighted video of the trip.

Biennale volunteers

We need the assistance of volunteers for an hour in the afternoon on Thursday 24 & Friday 25 October. We also need volunteers on Saturday 26 October from 9.00am-12.00pm. If you are available to assist, please bring a friend along and register here.

For those that have already registered to volunteer, Ms Buining will be contacting you via email with additional information.

Smart watches and mobile phones

Students are not permitted to wear smart watches to school. If your child has a phone, they must leave it in their bags, or with their teacher during school hours. If you need to get a message to your child during the day please email the class teacher, copying in the wyvvern@newington.nsw.edu.au address. Alternatively, you can phone the front office on 9568 9444 and speak to one of our lovely administration staff.

Student ID cards

Students MUST use their Student ID Card to make incidental purchases at the canteen. If a student doesn’t have any food for recess or lunch, we ask that they come to the front office for assistance. The office will arrange for the canteen to provide them with a sandwich of vegemite, jam or cheese for $2.40, which will be charged to their My Student Account.

If your child has lost their card, a replacement card can be requested here
