As we enter this magnificent year we’ll reach many milestones, movies, and moments, but what is really in stock for 2026 is that we are interviewing one of the greatest English teachers to ever rule, Mr. Parekh, to ask him about his predictions for this year. Mr. Parekh, what are your predictions? Let’s start with sports.
All right. My first prediction is, I’m not sure if many of your readers are NRL fans but I think that Hamasi Makistani who is a Newington old boy, who graduated last year, if he is able to lock in a starting spot with the west tigers, I think he will win the Dalian medal for rookie of the year, which is a pretty significant achievement. I also think that in these upcoming summers of cricket, I think that the world of cricket, Australia is going to go through a massive rebuilding phase, and we are going to lose a little bit as our players retire.
Interviewers: Anything else you would like to add? Like Premier League?
I think that Arsenal will not bottle it and be able to win the championships.
Interviewers: Alright. Now, do you have any school predictions?
My prediction for school is that, as much as I respect their hard work and success over the last three years, I think that Bavin will not win the house championship at the end of the year. I’m not saying anything, but I think that people should watch out for Johnstone.
Interviewers: Alright. Thank you. Now, do you have any predictions for memes?
Oh, yep ok. Memes. I would say that by May 6-7 will be completely dead, as it will get to a point where it’s completely died out. It’s come to a point where today in English we were doing Shakespeare, and there’s a line where there was a line that said, “my army will be bigger than 6 or 7 thousand men” and oh man. It just derailed. But yeh. I say by may it will be wiped out.
Interviewers: Yeh maybe by June or something. Or maybe a new number like 5/9 or something. It is a common height. Anyway, any more predictions? If not, let’s move to politics.
Ooh. Politics. I am probably going to say that by the end of the year, Kier Stamer, who is the current prime minister of the UK, will be replaced by someone within his own party.
Interviewers: Anything about American Politics? Anything on how Elon Musk thinks he will buy Greenland?
Yeh. I don’t think Greenland will go up for sale.
Interviewers: All right. Pop culture. Any new hits?
I think that Tymothy Chalamet will win best actor in the Oscars. I think for best director will go to Thomas Anderson for that movie one battle after another and Leo DiCaprio might also win the Oscar.
Interviewers: What about any Movie hits? Toy Story 5 is coming out?
Is it really? Yeh. I think that because of the success of the previous films it will do well.
