This season Phil Foden has been lighting up the Premier League with 19 goals and 8
assists. Helping Man City win their fourth consecutive Premier League in a row and winning
player of the season. This is a significant improvement from last year. From on the bench to
the premier league\u2019s best player – we need to ask what happened. One of the things that
makes him good is the versatility he has had to use this season playing in 5 positions
including left wing, right wing, center forward, center mid and central attacking midfielder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the main things that has changed is the fact that Pep Guardiola is playing him more
than last season. He has played all but 3 of Man Cities Premier League games. Also, last
season he was not played where he plays best, centrally, but he was played on the wings.
But now he is being played centrally. This significant role has allowed him to assist his
teammates from all over the pitch. He only played one game in the middle last season, in
the last game. But now that he has been played more often, in the position he plays best,
he has gotten 19 premier league goals (including 2 hat-tricks), 8 premier league assists,
player of the season and a premier league trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a huge step up from last season where he got 11 goals and 5 assists. One noticeable
thing about his stats is that it is clear his confidence has increased. Completing over
double the number of shots making more opportunities for him to score. The reason he is
getting all these shots on is his positioning sometimes drifting in from the wing and
sometimes moving up from central areas to get that clinical touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now as the season ends, he has won the best player of the season award. This is an
amazing achievement for the 24-year-old to be Manchester City’s best player at such an
early age and helping the Citizens win their 4th premier league in a row when Man City
seemed down and out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In conclusion, Phil Foden has improved so drastically by getting more game time and being
played centrally. With the mix of Phil Foden\u2019s talent, skill and football IQ. This has made
