These include ideas, pen and paper brainstorm, define basic storyline, write in scenes and the next draft.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"648\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/05\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1204\" style=\"width:380px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/05\/image.jpeg 648w, https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/05\/image-194x300.jpeg 194w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<br>She said that you should keep repeating this until a&nbsp; scene or the book is completed. &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>The purpose of using a pen and paper was that it encourages deeper levels of thinking in your writing according to Kirsty.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirsty said if you don\u2019t enjoy what you\u2019re writing you will be unable to relate to a story.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other key tips she provided to story writing included&nbsp; who is it, where is it, what is going on and emotion.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>She went on to brainstorm with the student to explore a story which would be interesting to them. She made three components for writing these sections which were &#8211; the subject matter, where they are and what they are feeling.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<br>The students had two minutes to write a short story about these words.
