The musical was an immediate hit, selling out in just two days. All 47 students across cast, band, and crew put their talent and dedication onto the stage for four nights of amazing performance that wowed the audience and demonstrated the power of Newington drama along with MLC, St Vincent\u2019s, Pymble Ladies College, SCEGGS and Burwood Girls High School.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"604\" height=\"402\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.30\u202fPM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1106\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.30\u202fPM.png 604w, https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.30\u202fPM-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The performance had it all: from solos, to orchestrated dance recitals, to comedic dialogue that got laughs from the whole crowd. The musical describes the true story of the con-artist Frank Abagnale Jr\u2019s life. As a young man in the 1960\u2019s, Frank counterfeits $2.5 million in fake checks while he impersonates a pilot, doctor, teacher, Lutheran and attorney. Meanwhile, FBI agent Carl Hanratty is determined to track down Frank Abagnale.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"840\" height=\"556\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.41\u202fPM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.41\u202fPM.png 840w, https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.41\u202fPM-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/www.newington.nsw.edu.au\/student-magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/03\/Screenshot-2025-03-27-at-6.27.41\u202fPM-768x508.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Frank Abagnale Jr was played by Jacob Love, the star of the show with his unquestionable dramatic flair and musical talent. Emma Siegloff played Paula Abagnale and was fantastic with her French accent. Savvas Sousamidis provided some dark humour to the play which allowed audiences a relief from the high tension of the play.
