The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Totk), is a newly released game with high expectations from the audience. It is the sequel to the legendary Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; a game some consider the greatest of all time. But, with such an expectant audience and anticipation, will Totk meet its high standards?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a single-player action-adventure video game available on the Nintendo Switch. Personally, I believe it is an amazing game where action and fighting meets puzzle-solving. One great aspect of Totk is that there are many things available to do. The world which players are completely free to explore (part of being a sandbox game) has a monumental number of details and quests to complete, with the world being almost three times larger than the world in the prequel.

At the very beginning of the game, you are thrown into action underground, learning how to play the game and about the world of Hyrule. But unfortunately, things take a turn. Link (the character you are playing) and Zelda, the princess you are assigned to protect fall into a cataclysmic danger. Zelda seemingly falls to her demise, and Link mysteriously is taken up into a mysterious floating island in the sky, by a mysterious figure.

This new beginning captivates you, and entrances you to play the rest of the game and find out what happens next in the story. As you progress, you uncover secrets about the world and what happened in the distant past, as you progress through the game.

One great thing about this game is that you don’t need to play the original game to enjoy this new adventure. You don’t even need have any previous knowledge of past events in the storyline, creating an enjoyable game for beginners and veterans alike.

All together, these factors allow for Tears of the Kingdom to be a very enjoyable game for all, and all the aspects of the game enables it to be, at least for us, one of the best games we’ve ever played.
