This House Competition Day has been one of the most competitive yet with boys striving to do their best in all the sports offered on the day. With 3 different sports taking place around the ground (along with the side events of swimming and table tennis), boys fought for that glorified first place and a chance at winning the Clarke Shield at the end of the year. 

Halfway Results:

By lunchtime everyone was starting to feel the effects of the heat and hard work they had put in, with the midway results ultimately coming to:

After a day of gruelling sports and competition and hard-fought wins, the final rankings came out to:

  1. Mackay – 184.5 points
  2.  Manton – 179.0 points
  3.  Morrison – 173.0 points
  4.  Whitaker – 168.5 points
  5. Bavin – 166.0 points
  6. Gilligan – 165.0 points
  7.  Moulton & Prescot – 159.0 points
  8.  Kelynack – 156.0 points
  9.  Fletcher – 145.5 points
  10.  Johnstone – 144.0 points

Conclusion:

Overall, the expectation that previous victors would win again were slashed at the end of the day when Mackay came out on top (congratulations to Mackay), but everyone clearly had a wonderful time with many of the Y7’s taking an active role in their team’s placing and great sportsmanship shown around the grounds.
