Book Review
The Black Prism is a thrilling read and a must for anyone that loves complex fantasy worlds. The story is set within the corrupt lands of the Seven Satrapies, plus the Chromeria, where luxin (magic) is the path to power. The story isn’t limited to one perspective but rather Brent Weeks provides the reader with an insight into multiple characters and their arc as the story progresses. The Black Prism is unique to other fantasy novels as it explores a complex magic system where light can be used to draft luxin. This idea fuels the story and the complex political systems within the world with the Prism being its leader. Additionally, the Black Prism explores complex themes of courage, weakness and identity. Ultimately, the Black Prism takes you on an incredible journey that redefines your perspective on the world around you.
