Who should apply?

The Scholarship Committee is looking for boys from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore who are passionate instrumentalists, choristers or both. It is expected that candidates will demonstrate sound musical ability, and be strongly motivated to extend their current skills by participating in Newington’s music program. Candidates must be boys of secondary school age (aged between 15 and 16 in 2019) to be able to enter Year 10 or 11 in New South Wales, commencing at the College late January 2019, and staying until the completion of Year 12 studies.

Applicants should possess a reasonable fluency in English so as to benefit from the full program of high school education in Australia. Priority will be given to the families of applicants whose financial means would not otherwise enable them to access a Newington education.
