It is a thought-provoking course in which students develop analytical skills in problem-solving and divergent thinking, while working towards technical proficiency and confidence as art-makers. In addition to exploring and comparing visual arts from different perspectives and in different contexts, students are expected to engage in, experiment with and critically reflect upon a wide range of contemporary practices and media. The course is designed for students who want to go on to further study of visual arts in higher education as well as for those who are seeking lifelong enrichment through visual arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The role of visual arts teachers should be to actively and carefully organize learning experiences for the students, directing their study to enable them to reach their potential and satisfy the demands of the course. Students should be empowered to become autonomous, informed and skilled visual artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n SL students submit two<\/strong> mandatory files.<\/span><\/p>\n One PDF file of up to 15 screens<\/strong> including visual evidence accompanied by written materials.<\/span><\/p>\n The total word count must not exceed 3,000 words.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n One separate text file<\/strong> listing the sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td> HL students submit two<\/strong> mandatory files.<\/span><\/p>\n One PDF file of up to 15 screens<\/strong> including visual evidence accompanied by written materials.<\/span><\/p>\n The total word count must not exceed 3,000 words.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n One separate text file<\/strong> listing the sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td> SL students submit two<\/strong> mandatory files.<\/span><\/p>\n One PDF file of up to 10 screens<\/strong> including visual evidence and supporting written materials. The total word count must not exceed 2,500 words.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n One separate text file<\/strong> listing the sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td> HL students submit three<\/strong> mandatory files.<\/span><\/p>\n One PDF file of up to 12 screens<\/strong> including visual evidence and supporting written materials. The total word count must not exceed 2,500 words<\/strong> and the student must comply with the exact word counts set for each section.<\/span><\/p>\n One video file<\/strong> up to three minutes<\/strong> long presenting the project artwork realized in the chosen context.
