The course will provide students with a broad knowledge and understanding of food properties, processing, preparation and their interrelationships and nutritional considerations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course will address the importance of hygiene and safe working practices in the production of food and provide students with a context through which to explore the richness, pleasure and variety food adds to life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students develop practical skills in preparing and presenting food that will enable them to select and use appropriate ingredients, methods and equipment. The course is a combination of practical work and building an understanding of the practices associated with food preparation. Throughout the course they will prepare and cook a range of meals based on using a variety of ingredients.
