Course Description
HSC Course [Board Developed] 1 unit
The History Extension course is focussed on Historiography (the study of how history is recorded). It has three main components of study:
- Constructing History: A survey of the changes in the construction and approaches to History over time, through the exploration of a variety of historians, movements and contemporary examples.
- A Case Study allowing for the close examination of historians’ work, we explore the historiography of Appeasement (1930s British Foreign Policy).
- The History Project, where students explore a historiographical issue of their own choosing, develop it in consultation with staff and present it as a research paper.
