Course Description

The Design and Technology Stage 5 Digital stream offers students in Years 9 and 10 opportunities to create purposeful digital solutions through projects such as graphic design, interactive media, simulation, app design, and UX and UI. 

In this course students use design processes to solve real-world problems, using digital tools to model ideas, test possibilities and improve solutions. Through a range of practical projects, students will develop understanding and skills in user-centred design, creativity, collaboration and understanding how digital technologies shape society and everyday life. 

The course develops critical and creative thinking by encouraging students to ask thoughtful questions, justify design choices, respond to feedback and refine ideas with evidence. Assessments include practical projects, research tasks and presentations that allow students to communicate their process and demonstrate how their solutions meet user and design needs.

Course Emphasis
