About Newington
Newington is a comprehensive K-12 boys day and boarding College. We are one of the six founding members of the GPS - an alliance of independent boys’ schools in New South Wales. In 2018 our Early Learning Centre for boys and girls opened.
Governance
Newington College was founded in 1863 under the Wesleyan Methodist Church. The aim was to establish a school that would provide students with a modern liberal education.
We are over 150 years in the making and as a Uniting Church school, we offer high quality education and a diverse co-curricular program to primary and secondary school boys.
We are a proud member of the Great Public Schools Association – an association of Boys’ schools in New South Wales.
Vision and Strategy
Our vision and strategy for the future is simple. We are a restless school eager to continually improve the way we motivate and encourage our boys, staff and community. The Strategic Plan for 2020-2024 outlines some of the goals and mechanisms we have in place so we continue to thrive.
Location and Transport
Newington College has four campuses in Sydney, three in the Inner City suburb of Stanmore and one in the Lower North Shore suburb of Lindfield. All four locations are easily accessible by car, public transport, and our College-operated bus service.
Our 150 Year History
The Newington College narrative began more than 150 years ago on the banks of the Parramatta River. Today, our story continues to be told and preserved by our dedicated archives team.
